Schools in Clark County, Washington

Hey there! Looking for schools in Clark County? I've got you covered with everything from big city schools to cozy rural districts.

Clark County has ten school districts ranging from larger ones like Vancouver, Evergreen, and Battle Ground to smaller rural districts like Green Mountain and Mt. Pleasant.

All our schools offer the essentials - strong academics, special education support, language programs (for both English learners and world language classes), plus plenty of fun stuff like arts, sports, and cool STEM activities!

Want more details? I'd be happy to share a complete guide with profiles of all our public school districts, including:

  • Which schools are in each area and what grades they cover

  • Boundary information

  • Contact details

  • What local families are saying

The guide also includes fantastic private school options (both religious and non-religious) and resources for homeschooling families throughout Clark County.

Just let me know if you'd like me to share that with you!

Where are the boundaries?

Wondering which school your kiddo would attend? Super easy to figure out! Just pop your address into the Clark County Property Information Center online map tool, and it'll show you exactly which district and school you belong to.

The Hidden Cost of School Ratings

As a new mom, I've been thinking a lot about those online school ratings lately, and something just doesn't sit right with me. These ratings mostly come down to test scores, which—let's be honest—often say more about which kids have resources at home than about how good the actual teaching is.

When we all chase after the "5-star schools," we're accidentally making our community more divided. I totally get wanting the best for our kids. I want my son to rock his math tests and science projects too. But honestly? I'm more concerned about whether he's learning to be the kid who shares his snack when someone doesn't have one, or who scoots over to make room for the child sitting alone at lunch. With friends from all kinds of socio-economic backgrounds, abilities, and diverse families and home experiences. Those top-rated schools with all the affluent families? They might have great AP scores and leading sports teams, but my kid might miss out on the beautiful diversity that makes our world so rich. I want him surrounded by all kinds of classmates, learning that everyone deserves respect and kindness—regardless of where they live or what their parents do for work.

At the end of the day, I believe a truly amazing education teaches our kids not just how to succeed on tests, but how to create a world where everyone gets a fair shot at happiness. And that lesson? You won't find it on any rating website.
